My new home for the next 9 months...possibly...

Here is the Fosdahl's home which I'll be staying while I'm here in Indonesia! :)

<--This is the front of the house which I never really see because we
always go in and out through the side of the house -->

These are some rooms of the house that I never really see either
<--This is, I guess you could call, the hospitable room where people will wait for you. Every Indonesian house has one.
On the bottom right two is the family room which has a piano, so I'm pretty excited about that :)

These bottom two pictures are pictures of the dining room which has the door to the side of the house where we go in and out of all the time. We only eat dinner at this table, but I forgot to take a picture of the little side room where we have breakfast every morning. I don't really spend that much time in the kitchen. Well, I guess I never really did at home anyways, but that's not the point here. :) We have a helper named...I think it's Sudo Kim. She is sooo amazingly sweet! She can speak English as much as I can speak Indonesian which is 0 at the moment, but she's teaching me some things....or at least TRYING to teach me. She always says Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening, but the only one I know how to say is "Salamat Pagee" (spelling?) which is "Good Morning."
The top two pictures are the pictures of our lovely bathrooms! :) Don't you just love my squat toilet? haha, j/k Luckily I have a normal toilet, but that toilet is for our helper. However, if you see in the top left picture. The blue bucket on the ground is my shower!!! ya, it was pretty weird at first, but I guess it conserves water? My dad will probably be happy if we got one of those, so that it would stop me fron just standing in the shower for 20 mins.
These top 3 pictures is my room. It's pretty nice and roomy. This is Rebecca's old room. She just went away to college, so they're letting me use it. The helper comes in every weekday and washes my dirty clothes for me than folds the clean clothes and places them on my bed. Oh yes, she also will pick up my clothes on the floor, fold them, and place them on the bed after she makes the bed for me....aah! I feel so spoiled! I normally try to clean up my messes in the room, but sometimes she gets to it before me....:\
Let me first explain the whole helper thing because it was really weird to me at first as well. I thought it's demeaning at first. However, some of the missionaries explained to me that it's more insulting if we didn't have one. They think that because we are rich foreigners it would be snobbish of us if we didn't help them by providing jobs for their people. Anyways, I'll try taking pictures of the school that I normally go to and the girl's dorms.

Hey! it's me Lisa! This blog spot will mainly be for updates on how I'm doing in Indonesia. I will try my best to update it weekly, but we'll see how disciplined I'll be. :)
